Bildquelle: www.nbrb.by	Die Übersetzung ins Deutsche ist in Vorbereitung THE BORISOGLEBSK CHURCH The Borisoglebsk (Kolozha) church of Grodno is a monument of Old Byelorussian architecture of the Grodno school, which has no analogues in East Slavic architecture. In accordance with the construction tradition of the second half of the 12th century, the church was built on the right high bank of the Neman River next to Zamkovaya Hill, harmonizing with the landscape and ancient construction system of Grodno. The church is made of brick and is referred to six-column three-apsidal temples of the crosswise dome system. The outer walls are decorated with multicolor slip-glazed ceramic crosses and stones. Rows of ceramic vessels immured in the brickwork with their necks coming out, the so-called resonators, improving the acoustics of the temple, were arranged in the walls of the Borisoglebsk church. The temple walls were frescoed and the floor was made of majolica tile. In 1853 and 1889 the church collapsed partially as a result of landslides. Although the temple does not stand in its integrity, it is a very interesting and unique monument of Orthodox architecture.
