Source of image: www.nbrb.by	THE 2000TH ANNIVERSARY OF CHRISTIANITY (CATHOLIC CONFESSION) The commemorative coin, dedicated to the 2000th anniversary of Christianity (Catholic confession) depicts the main symbols of this holiday for all the Catholics of Belarus. Featured in the centre of the coin is the holiday emblem –a cross round the globe. It reminds us of Christ who died to save all the people. Three lines forming the cross symbolize the secret of Holy Trinity. Five doves represent five continents and their interweaving indicates the unification of nations and spiritual unity of all the peoples. Light – the symbol of Christ, the sole redeemer of the human race – emanates from the centre of the cross. The words “Christ yesterday, today and forever” emphasize these symbols. The coin features the main objects of worship for the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus: the Minsk Archicathedral (Bernadines’ nunnery) , The Grodno Cathedral (Jesuits’ monastery), and the Pinsk Cathedral (of Assumption, Fransiscans’ monastery).
