Mikhas Lynkov (1899—1975), a people's writer of Beyelorussia, ranks high in the history of the Byelorussian literature as a novelist of standing reputation, who had set brilliant examples of social and psychological stories. He was the author of the epic novel "The Unforgettable Days" widely known in Belarus and outside the country, and of such classical stories for children as "Mikolka- Locomotive" (1936) and "About the Brave Warrior Mishka and His Nice Comrades" (1935).
M. Lynkov was born in the village of Zazyby, Vitebsk district. His creative work began in the 20th of the last century. His stories "Goy" (1926), "Above the Bug" (1926), and "Andrei Letun" (1928) brought success and fame to the author. The writer had his special point of view in perceiving the Revolution, the Civil and Great Patriotic Wars: first of all Lynkov was interested in the interpretation of history in the individual psychology and in the fact how historic events opened new things in man and in human relations. The writer's works are full of lyricism and love to man, of pain for the fate of those who were doomed f to suffering and death by the war.
