Source of image: www.nbrb.by	A TREATY ON ESTABLISHING A COMMUNITY OF RUSSIA AND BELARUS When on April 2, 1996 the leaders of two countries put their signatures under the document that proclaimed the intention of Belarus and Russia to establish a new international community, many people did not even suppose that this act would have a future full of achievements and difficulties. In a year, after determining concrete tasks and aims of the unification, the parties signed a new document – a Treaty on Creating a Union State. Thus, from the proclamation of declaration to the development of basic documents to create a union, among which the Constitution Act stands first, systematic and scrupulous preparatory work is done towards real integration of the two fraternal countries. Now April 2 (the date of signing the first document about the intention to establish a community) is marked in both countries as a real holiday – a day of unity of the peoples of Belarus and Russia. The progress of bringing together the two states has activated the political, economic and cultural enrichment of the fraternal peoples, filled the content of creating a union state with real and concrete deeds. It is pleasant to observe that the bank employees of both countries have achieved the greatest success in bringing together their common interests and accelerating the process of unification. And it is of most significance that they were the first to practically start implementing the arrangements made earlier, thus speeding up the course of unification. The commemorative coin dedicated to the anniversary of the Treaty on Establishing a Community of Belarus and Russia is of special importance; it is indeed the first tangible realization of this fraternal union.
