The Twelve Months is a nice New Year story about alI the twelve months that only once a year get together in a winter wood around a bright campfire. And then you can-see all of them at once, each one with its own abilities -good-natured, responsive, capable of performing all kinds of miracles, and willing to come to our aid. That's what happened to a poor girl who, by virtue of an unfortunate set of circumstances, found herself in a winter forest amidst snowdrifts faced with a seemingly impossible task. Being almost frozen, she reaches a clearing in the woods where a magic campfire has been lit I surrounded by the twelve brothers... And all of a sudden in the midst of winter April sets in, snowdrops - fresh spring flowers - begin to push up from the snow... So the girl doesn't have to be afraid of her mean relatives... The Twelve Months tells the story how wisdom, beauty, and kindness overcome avidity, foolishness, and spite and that a vice cannot go unpunished while the virtue will be rewarded by all means. Its contents are permeated with an atmosphere of a festival, sincere children's expectation of a miracle which would occur whatever the circumstances, that justice would triumph, and then things would revert to normal.
